Since 1993, A Place Called Home has been doing something simple and radical at the same time: showing young people in South Los Angeles that they belong somewhere, that someone is invested in them, and that their potential is real. Over three decades, thousands of young people have walked through the doors at 2830 S Central Ave and found mentors, opportunities, and a community that holds them accountable and lifts them up.

This is not a drop-in center. APCH offers a structured, full-spectrum approach to youth development, from afterschool tutoring and college prep to mental health counseling, arts programs, career readiness training, and health and wellness education. Every program is free. Every program is designed to help young people achieve lasting social, emotional, and economic success on their own terms.
A Place Called Home meets young people where they are and walks with them toward where they want to go. Academic enrichment and college prep programs give students the tools to succeed in school and plan beyond it, with scholarships and summer learning opportunities that keep momentum going year-round.
